Meet D'Elect and the team

Chibuzor “D'Elect” is a keyboardist, musical director, arranger and clinician, and the founder of the online piano school Think Like A Pianist, where students learn jazz, gospel, classical, pop and more. These live classes bring that experience to learners of every level.

He's known for explaining the “why” behind the music in plain language, so even tricky ideas feel simple and you leave every lesson able to play something new.

You won't only learn from D'Elect. Our classes are also led by a team of professional piano teachers who share his approach and have years of teaching and performing experience, so you're in expert hands whichever class you join.

“D'elect explains the theory of every topic in depth, making it very easy to use and understand the material.” Mayowa Okuwa, student of D'Elect

What D'Elect's students say

Piano class questions, answered

I already play a little. Are the classes still right for me?

Yes. The classes are open to every level. Tell us your experience on the sign-up form and our teachers will keep the lessons useful whether you're a first-timer or already play.

I've never touched a piano. Can I still learn?

Absolutely. Classes start from the very beginning, with where your hands go and what the keys mean, and move forward at a comfortable pace.

Do I need a real piano for online piano lessons?

No. A keyboard works well for learning. If you don't have one yet, tell us on the sign-up form and we'll point you in the right direction before you buy anything.

I'm not good with technology. Can I still join a Zoom piano class?

Yes. We send a simple, step-by-step guide to joining on Zoom, and we're happy to help if you get stuck.

Is it too late to start playing?

Not at all. Many people pick up the piano later in life and love it. Playing music is great for the mind, and there's no wrong time to begin.

How much do the classes cost?

Pricing depends on the class you join. As soon as you request your spot we'll email full pricing, class times and how to join. There's no obligation, so you can decide in your own time.
